LifeShare Blood Center
LifeShare Blood Center was established in 1942 in Shreveport, La. where its headquarters remain. LifeShare has seven locations and regularly serves communities in more than 80 parishes and counties in Louisiana, Texas and Arkansas.
The John J. Moulds Immunohematology Reference Laboratory at LifeShare has supplied more than 1800 rare and uncommon red cell units to other blood centers and hospitals and participates in the American Rare Donor Program. LifeShare’s Scientific Support Services is one of just six AABB accredited molecular labs in the world and one of only four that offer specialized tests as the monocyte-monolayer assay. It also performs blood group genotyping, special DAT studies, and clinical trials, has an extensive DNA repository and the second largest SBB Program. Together, these groups are dedicated to resolving complex serological problems and providing compatible for specific recipients.
