For almost 70 years, Houchin Community Blood Bank has served the Central Valley of California. Our local blood supply is a shared community resource that bonds us all. Houchin is the only truly local blood services provider for Kern County. Having a thriving local blood supply ensures that the people you see every day, the people you care about the most—family, friends, neighbors, coworkers—always have access to life-saving blood when they need it. Through our communities generous blood donors, Houchin Community Blood Bank has saved over 3 million lives.
Houchin Community Blood Bank is a non-profit organization founded in 1951, committed to being the sole provider of a safe and adequate blood supply from volunteer blood donors for the purpose of saving the lives of Kern County residents.
