Established in 1974 as an independent community blood bank. South Texas Blood and Tissue is a unique, not-for-profit center providing high quality blood, blood components, cord blood, cellular therapy, peripheral blood stem cell, tissues services and testing services.
It has been registered with ISO 9002 quality standards since 1996 and was the first certified donor center in North America. South Texas Blood and Tissue is accredited by the AABB, AATB, licensed by the Food and Drug Administration and is a member of American’s Blood Centers and Blood Centers of America.
