SunCoast Blood Centers
Established in 1949, SunCoast Blood Centers, a not-for-profit community blood center, serves four counties in Southwest Florida including Charlotte, DeSoto, Manatee and Sarasota counties. SunCoast maintains five donor centers and a fleet of nine bloodmobiles. SunCoast performs a host of direct patient therapeutic procedures on both an in-patient and out-patient basis for its hospitals and health centers, as well as transfusion services for the largest hospital in its service area. In addition, SunCoast participates in groundbreaking mononuclear cellular therapy for late-stage prostate cancer patients.
SunCoast prides itself on its strong relationship with its donors, hospitals and community. Giving back is a key element to its success and what sets it apart. In addition to supporting other non-profits in the community, SunCoast offers a vibrant recruitment and retention scholarship program for our next generation of donors.
